In the northern hemisphere, this weird weather transition period from Summer to Autumn has arrived. Some days are warm, the next it can be drooly and chilly. You don’t want to pack up your summer wardrobe all together, so I got you covered with this blog post.
For this blog post, I teamed up with Dolly and Dotty, a retro fashion brand based in the UK. One of my first vintage-style dresses, was from Dolly and Dotty. They are such an affordable brand, so ideal when you’re just starting out and discovering your way through the vintage style.
When Dolly and Dotty contacted me to review one of their dresses, I was hesitant to pick a dress from the Spring/Summer collection at first. But then I still went for this turquoise Lorraine dress and I’ll show you exactly why.
The Lorraine dress features shoulder straps which you can tie yourself, to your own preferred length. Perfectly airy for a summer outfit.

Summer outfit details:
Dress - Dolly and Dotty
Cardigan - Collectif
Shoes - B.A.I.T. Footwear
Bangles - Splendette
Earrings - Glitz-O-Matic
Hair flower - Pin Up Curl
The Lorraine dress comes in 4 colors: black, red, light orange and turquoise. I went for the turquoise version. This color is so vibrant and cute for Summer. But, at the same time, the color presents as a rich jewel tone, so it’s nice to combine with shades of brown and rust for Autumn.

Autumn outfit details:
Dress - Dolly and Dotty
Cardigan - Vivien of Holloway
Shoes - B.A.I.T. Footwear
Bangle - Splendette
Earrings - Glitz-O-Matic
Flower corsage - Pin Up Curl
Not shown here in the pics are pockets. I seem a bit too excited about pockets, but I like functional dresses and the Lorraine definitely has it. Along with a floaty, comfy fabric, you’ll feel at ease throughout the day, Summer or Autumn.
The Lorraine dress comes in sizes UK8 up to UK26. The dress is currently on sale on the Dolly and Dotty website for only 18 GBP. As I’ve showed you in this post, although it’s a strappy dress, if you layer it nicely, you can wear it any season, no matter which color you end up picking. Now that’s what I call a wardrobe staple!
