It’s December already, the countdown to Christmas has officially begun. I love the coziness of the Winter holidays. I always hope for a white Christmas, enjoying the beautiful icy scenery from the warmth of inside. However, it’s hard to find just one outfit able to defy the freezing temperatures outside, while not melting in the inside heating. Let alone the hassle to find such wardrobe staple in a vintage-inspired style. Enter Miss Fortune.
Miss Fortune was founded way back in 2005 by owner Laura, starting off small scale from her own garage to the successful retro brand it is now, shipping her items all over the world and having wholesale retailers in the UK, Europe, the USA an New Zealand. Miss Fortune offers a mix of custom handmade garments as well as items made by a collaborating small manufacturer. You probably have seen her cute jumpers around the retro scene. I was lucky enough to collaborate with Laura to promote her popular range of Miss Fortune jumpers in a special Christmas edition.
The Penelope jumper in Candy Cane is not another kitschy “ugly Christmas sweater”. With its traditional bold red colorway and white atomic stars, it clearly hints toward the holiday spirit, yet remains very wearable and mixable all year round.
The Penelope jumper sports the most adorable little puff sleeves, a very authentic 1940s design. The higher neckline makes sure to keep you warm and points all attention to the sleeve detail. The sleeves hit at about the middle of my upper arm, which I find a perfect length when you’re a little conscious about that area, just like me.
The jumper is a cropped style, measuring about 19 inches/48 cm in total length. This shorter length is ideal for wearing it tucked into a pair of trousers or a pencil skirt without fabric bulking out. Alternatively, the jumper looks just as pretty worn on top of trousers, like I did in this picture – it’s all up to your preferences.
The Penelope jumper is made from a blend of 95% acrylic and 5% elastane. The knit pattern and the elastane provide quite the amount of stretch. This particular style runs a little bigger than the other jumpers, so make sure to check the size guide. Measuring 35 inches/89 cm in the bust and 26.5 inches/68cm in the waist, Laura sent me a size XS and it fits perfectly.
This festive jumper combines wonderfully with the Snowy Reindeer boardwalk skirt, another item from Miss Fortune’s Christmas collection. However, for the purpose of this blog shoot, Laura asked me to pair it with 1940s style jeans for a more casual, yet smart look. And gosh, do I love this ensemble, I will definitely be wearing it a lot this season!

The Penelope jumper retails at 38.99 GBP and comes in sizes XS-XXL. Especially for the Holiday season, the Penelope jumper came out in Candy Cane (a bold traditional red) and Night Sky (an inky black). If you fancy this atomic star design, but prefer a different colourway, you still have a pastel pink, blue, yellow and green version to choose from.
In the Holiday spirit and enouncing Christmas wishes, I want to say a big thank you to Laura from Miss Fortune for this wonderful collaboration. I loved your vision on this outfit and had fun setting up this little Christmas shoot. Also, thanks to my hubby for being my trusted photographer, even for this indoor shoot that was a little different for the both of us. And lastly, thank you to all my readers and followers for believing in me and my content!
