Taking the BAIT – B.A.I.T. Footwear

Lately, I’ve been experimenting more with 1940s styles. As someone who rather dresses 1950s-1960s, I hear your question: ‘but what shoes?’ When I saw the previews B.A.I.T. Footwear was posting of the Romona heels, I immediately fell in love.

The Romona heels are very different from any other kind of shoes I already own. I think that’s also one of the reasons why I wanted them so bad. I remember both of my grandmother’s having a pair of shoes similar to these, yet another reason to get my hands on the Romonas.

They feature a modest peep-toe design with a wider heel, classic 1940s-style. The little buckles are functional, but rather present as a nice detail to the shoes, as you can just easily step in. The shoes are made off a faux leather material, 100% vegan-friendly.

The width and height of these heels are very comfortable. The inner sole is slightly cushioned, adding to the comfort level. And because the peep-toe is rather modest, you won’t slip through and create an awkward ‘squeezed toes’ situation.

The Romona is the ultimate addition to your 1940s wardrobe with a colour for everyone’s own preference: navy, cranberry, tan and black. The Romona comes in sizes US6-10, retailing at $72 at the B.A.I.T. Footwear website or at their boutique.
