An emerald Christmas – Voodoo Vixen

It’s December! We can now officially start talking about Christmas. Or better, what to wear on Christmas Eve!

Enter the Mariah Cape Dress by Voodoo Vixen. Ever since they previewed it way back in August, it’s been on my love list. The emerald green is just such a stunning, rich jewel tone and perfect for Christmas.

The shape might be a simple A-line, but it’s all about the details and finish here. The dress is off a luxurious satin finish and features an elegant sweetheart neckline and pleated bust. The flattering elbow-length bell sleeves end in the cutest little cape, which adds a lot of interest to the dress.

I guess it’s the cape part that I love most about this dress. As I’m very conscious about my upper arms, the cape covers this uncomfortable area, while floaty at the same time. It’s authentic-looking, yet a feature you don’t encounter very often in vintage-style dresses. Just think of the dramatic effect when you move your arms, definitely an eye catcher at a Christmas party.

The dress is made of 100% polyester, easy in maintenance. The dress opens with a zipper at the back, so you can easily step in, without any worries about your hairdo. The cape part ties with a ribbon on the back as well.

To enhance the luxurious jewel tone effect, I paired this dress with gold-toned accessories. I added my Vandalized With Love hair piece as it instantly adds holiday vibes. In line with the Christmas theme, I think accessorizing with all red accents would look amazing too – maybe I’ll try that for Christmas Eve.
