I’m back… With tartans! A girl can never have enough tartans. At least, that’s how I see it. I’ve always correlated tartans with the coziness of the Autumn/Winter season and the latest addition to my tartan collection certainly lives up to this sentiment.
The Ulrika-Lee dress is part of the latest Miss Candyfloss collection. It’s a beautiful shirt-style dress in a warm colour palette of mustard, rusty orange and navy blue.
The design of the Ulrika-Lee breathes 1950s housewife vibes, Betty Draper worthy. The buttoned bodice with cute peter pan collar ends in a floaty full circle skirt.
The details of this dress are just so elegant: a beautiful neckline, a matching mustard belt, charming cap sleeves and delicate pearl-finished buttons. These buttons are not just for accessory, but full functional as well. The dress has a zipper at the side, but the buttons in the front can be opened as well to get it on a little easier – read: less hair spoiling.
The fabric of this dress is a soft, light polyester/viscose mix, giving it some stretch and a lot of comfort in wear. The fabric and the pattern make the dress not too easy to wrinkle. Combined with the ease in wear, this dress is one of my new go-to’s for busy days when I can’t be bothered.
The multitude of shades in the tartan pattern offers a variety of accessorizing options. For this shoot, I went with for a burgundy coloured cardigan to make the mustard collar and belt pop. In line with the warm mustard and rust hues, I further accessorized with golden toned jewellery and tan shoes. I think adding navy accents would look great as well and I’m looking forward to style this dress in many more different ways.

This particular day was actually pretty rainy, but I really like how these pictures came out. I adore how well the warm tones in this dress compliment the beautiful complexion of the Autumn leaves. Definitely one of my new favourite seasonal dresses.
