A little over a week ago, I was fortunate enough to get to attend an exclusive event: the Voodoo Vixen AW17 launch party. And what a party it was!
Voodoo Vixen chose the scenery of the fabulous art deco Fontaine’s Bar in London for the launch of their AW17 collection, also debuting their design collab with pinup icon Miss Victory Violet.
Everyone got all glammed up and accompanied by musical and burlesque performances and lots of drinks, it was a night full of decadent lounging, entertainment and socializing with vintage-style fashion as the center theme.
Besides the chance of previewing the upcoming collection, it was such a pleasure to get to meet some of the amazing pinups I’ve been following on social media in real life – and yes, these girls do look just as fabulous in real life as depicted on their Instagram photos.

Not only did we just get a little sneak peek at the AW17 collection, we also had the opportunity to feel the fabrics, combine separates and try items on before hitting the stores! The colours, patterns, fabrics and silhouettes genuinely capture the cosiness and holiday spirit of the AW season!
The following items are definitely on my wish list:
(Collection photos below are all courtesy of Voodoo Vixen)
The Mariah Cape Dress:
The silky fabric, those cape sleeves and that gorgeous jewel-toned green colour just breath holiday glam vibes! I can imagine me wearing this at a Christmas party.
The Bridget Tartan Flare Skirt paired with the Celine Black Top:
Both are items from the Voodoo Vixen design collaboration with Miss Victory Violet. The result is a dream ensemble! Why you need this, you ask? Uhm, ’cause tartans and button details, duhu!
The Veronica Tartan Pencil Dress:
Another piece from the Miss Victory Violet for Voodoo Vixen collection. What is not to love about this stunning dress? Winter-cliché tartan print, a beautiful bust and neckline and an interesting detail of pleats at the back hem for even more vavavoom. This dress will surely make heads turn!
The Rose Floral Swing Dress:
I’m a sucker for rose prints, so this choice was inevitable. This silhouette with detailed pleating at the bust is one of their signature styles, which they bring out in a different fabric/print every season. So as expected, it’s classy and comfy at the same time plus it has pockets!
The Meg Floral Swing Dress:
Same story as with the Rose Dress; I just can’t resist a good rose print. I adore warm colour scheme of yellow and orange tones for the flowers, undeniably autumn-appropriate. The slight silky shine of the fabric adds some glamour to your everyday wear this AW season.
The 40s Style Trousers:
As I myself know the struggle of finding a proper pair of trousers for my tights and bum, I do love a classic 1940s silhouette with a nicely fitting waist and flared legs. I think these trousers would make great vintage-style office wear too.
The Vintage Style Velvet Turbans:
I love love love that Voodoo Vixen added turbans to their accessories range for the upcoming season. A turban is such an underestimated staple piece that saves bad/greasy hair days or just tops off a classic look. If you don’t own a turban already, you should really add one of these to your shopping cart right now! These turbans come in a velvet finish in 6 gorgeous colours to choose from at such an affordable price. No excuse not to try one out.
When posting this, most of the items listed here already hit the shops. To my knowledge, (part of) the Voodoo Vixen AW17 collection is available at following web shops:
Is it just me or doesn’t this gorgeous collection really make you look forward to autumn? What items are you most excited about?
