As I’ve said before, I’m not a big fan of trousers. Finding a pair that all fit the waist, hips and bum properly and comfortably can be a real struggle. However, after my positive experience and the many complements that came with the Miss Fancy Pants from Emmy Design, I was ready for another pair. Seeing so many ladies of all kinds of body types looking so stunning in Miss Candyfloss’ Gigi jumpsuit, I decided to make the jump myself.
What particularly won my heart, was the look of the pleated, ultra-wide legs. They give such an authentic 1930s-1940s vibe. In the early 1930s, women started wearing wide-legged trousers as a form of recreation and lounge wear. Gaining popularity nearing the 40s, trousers became acceptable for daily wear and even Hollywood actresses were spotted wearing (palazzo) pants mid-1940s.

Just like their original purpose of leisure wear, these wide legs feel as amazing as they look. They don’t bother around your legs and thighs and feel as floaty as a full skirt. It even gives the look of a floor-length dress – who doesn’t want some red carpet vibes for daily wear? And a bonus: just like real purpose wear, the Gigi jumpsuit has pockets: in the front and in the back!
The Gigi jumpsuit features the signature Miss Candyfloss pleated bust, which is so feminine and flattering on all bust sizes. I also adore the 3/4 length tulip sleeves on this jumpsuit. With my slightly havier upper arms, fitted sleeves can sometimes feel inconvenient for long wear. These tulips sleeves feel so pleasing and furthermore look very elegant.
With my measurements of 35.5” bust, 27” waist and 40” hips, I ordered the Gigi in a size Small. It zips up smoothly and fits like a dream. The jumpsuit closes in the front with a zipper and button. It comes with a matching belt to accentuate, or perhaps even cinch in, the waist. With my height of 163 cm/5’4″, I did have to get the legs shortened, as even with my highest heels, they would still touch the floor ever so slightly – so good news for the taller ladies.
It’s the perfect outfit for this transition season, when the weather isn’t too cold anymore, but it’s not quite sunny either. It will keep you warm enough, but at the same time feel light and breezy with its loose legs and sleeves. Moreover is its look both classy and casual.
I went for this gorgeous deep emerald green (the Gigi-Gia) to complement my hair, but the Gigi comes in a range of other beautiful colours as well in the Miss Candyfloss pants section. The Gigi jumpsuit is available in sizes XS-5XL and retails at €110.00. For girls based in the US; Modcloth stocks this jumpsuit in several colours too at $129.99.

Oh how Gigi makes my heart skip a bit ♥️
I have nearly the same measurements as you and I strangely fit size XS (perfectly). Albeit mine was purchased from Modcloth, but they insist they didn’t mess with the size tag. I flactuate between XS-S in Miss candy floss, across several designs, unfortunately.
But back to Gigi – makes me look like a sexy mechanic!
