Because people mostly find me cute looking, I wanted to boost the vamp factor for once. So, how to better achieve this than with the Fatale Sorrento Pencil Dress by The Pretty Dress Company?
“What’s in a name?” The dress features of a beautiful neckline with off theshoulder sleeves and boned bodice, rendering, as its name states, an ultimate femme-fatale look like the Old Hollywood vamps back in the days.
I have mentioned it before; my chunky upper arms can sometimes be a problem area for certain clothing brands or pieces. The off-shoulder sleeves of this Fatale dress are elasticated and I, thus, find them very comfortable to wear.
My measurements are 36” bust, 27.5” waist and 40” hips. Despite my bigger hips, that would suggest to go for size 12, my usual dress size 10 fitted perfectly. The boned bodice ensures a smooth waistline for a curve-hugging va-va-voom fit. By wearing a thin belt, I wanted to accentuate the hourglass shape a little more.
Although the dress is entirely covered with big roses, the print doesn’t tend to look bold, but rather radiates delicacy and romance. Like with many of The Pretty Dress Company pieces, the floral print is even very true to authentic 1950s patterns.

The Floral Fatale dress comes in different colors and at first I couldn’t decide between the White & Red and the China Blue version. Eventually, I decided to channel my inner ice queen vibes and settled for the cool tones of the China Blue roses. To pair it off, I asked Jan from Shazam Vintage Pin Up Hair Flowers to design a custom blue hair piece to match the print of this dress (you can read my review on this custom hair piece here).
I love how this look turned out. And how to better share the beauty of this floral dress than between flowers and greens in nature?
