Pretty in pink in Miss Candyfloss

I’ve always been a real girly girl and pink has always been my favorite color. Growing up, however, I hardly had any pink items in my wardrobe, as people would say it’s not a good idea due to the pinkish undertone in my skin. I’ve recently learned that I do can get away with cooler pink tones and pink accents and caught up with the lack of my favorite color quickly. Still I felt like my wardrobe was missing a plain soft pink dress.

Miss Candyfloss has a wide range of different style dresses in gorgeous pastel colors. The Claudette-Blush dress quickly caught my eye, as I was looking for a simple, yet elegant wardrobe staple.

The Claudette dress features a full 1950’s skirt, hitting below the knee, making it possible to wear a petticoat underneath for a more dressed up look. What draw my attention most was the elegance of the more 1940’s style pleated bust, the signature of Miss Candyfloss. With my upper arms being my problem area, I find the cap sleeves on the dress very flattering for all body types.

Of course, the other reason for choosing the Claudette-Blush dress was that it’s pink. Actually, to be correct it’s blush and that pretty much captures the color’s description entirely . It’s always a bit of a gamble when choosing a color on the computer screen, but when this dress arrived, it fulfilled all my expectations.

My measurements are 35,5-36” bust and 27” waist.  Based on the size chart provided by Miss Candyfloss, that would put me in between a size S and M. Relying on my previous experiences with Miss Candyfloss dresses, I decided to go for a size S. I find Miss Candyfloss dresses to have some give in the fabric and for a nice fit it’s easily possible to size down if you are at the lower end of the next size.

This dress will be my go-to dress when I want an effortless, yet sophisticated look. For this review, I styled it with a petticoat for a more dressed up look, but I have also been wearing it more relaxed without any petticoat underneath. And although summer is almost over in Europe, I think this dress can easily be worn throughout the Fall/Winter season as well, by pairing it with a nice knitted cardigan and a pair of seemed stockings or tights.
